Miss Jeanine is the very proud owner, founder and director of Infinity Dance. She has a passion for dance education and movement that continually inspires her. She has been teaching and dancing for over 25 years, and her artistic career has taken her across the country adjudicating, creating, and sharing her love of dance. Yet she is most excited to share her passion with the dancers she calls "her kids" here at home. When the studio opened in June of 2011, there was no way of knowing what a truly special place her dance studio would become, she is incredible grateful for her Infinity Dance family!
Jeanine is a fully certified dance instructor with Dance Masters of America, and the Dance Masters of Canada, having successfully completed her teaching exams in ballet, jazz and tap. She is currently an active member of the Canadian Dance Masters of America, Chapter #38 (the original Canadian Chapter of DMA). In 2013 Jeanine became a certified member of the examination commitee for the Dance Masters of Canada and DMA, and is one of the examiners for Chapter #38 certified as a peer examiner in Ballet, Jazz and Tap. She is a certified acrobatics instructor with Acrobatic Arts, receiving a grade of 100% on her Module 1 exam in the summer of 2015.
As a member of the PAA (Professional Adjudacator's Alliance), and as a dance judge, she is thrilled to have such a wide impact on the dancers of Ontario! Jeanine has been a Special Awards Judge and adjudacator at dance competitions in Ontario, and has taught various master classes at these competitions as well – most recently for En Pointe & Just Dance, Champions Dance, and the Port Huron Festival of the Arts. She is also a judge at the Rising Star Youth Talent Search Semi-Finals and Finals held in London, ON.
Jeanine has held positions teaching at such prestigious studios as Dance Extreme in London, Judith Coleman's Oxford School of Dance in Ingersoll, Swan Studio Dance in London and Morée School of Dance in Waterloo. Her dance and theatre experience is extensive, including many acting, choreography and stage-management credits. Jeanine obtained an Honours BA in English Language and Literature with a minor in Dramatic Literature from The University of Western Ontario - and graduated on the Dean's List!
Jeanine completed several Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D.) and Canadian Dance Teachers Association (C.D.T.A) exams during the course of her training with Morée School of Dance. Jeanine was a member and dance captain for Moree's "Dance Attack" - a troupe of competitive dancers that performed around the community as well. During her competitive dance years, she received many awards competing in dance competitions across Ontario. Now as a choreographer, her entertaining and energetic choreography has won many awards since then at various Canadian dance competitions, including special awards and overall awards with Dance Extreme.
She has choreographed several stage productions, including the inaugural show for M. Rubinoff Productions in Toronto - A Chorus Line, which received rave reviews and enjoyed a sold-out run! During her university career at UWO she was highly involved with Theatre Western as an actor, choreographer, stage manager, movement coach and member of the Theatre Western Committee. Jeanine was also privileged and thrilled to study modern dance technique and composition under Donna Peterson at UWO. Her favorite Theatre Western credits include: Choreographer and "Lampito" in Lysistrata (1999), "Cousin Hebe" in HMS Pinafore (2000), "Miss Jones / Ensemble" in Blood Brothers (2001), and Choreographer and Co-Producer for West Side Story (2002).
Jeanine was involved with the Sears Drama Festival throughout her high school career (the French Immersion Program at Kitchener Collegiate Institute) and she won several awards with this National One-Act Drama Festival. Most notably, she was given the Sears Drama Festival Award of Excellence in 1999 for "Original Choreography" in Office Hours. Upon graduating high school (in 1999), Jeanine was awarded KCI's Outstanding Contribution to Drama Award – these honours marked the first of many awards Jeanine would receive in her artistic career.
Dancers who have trained with Jeanine are enamored with her bubbly attitude and the joy she brings into the studio. Children of all ages inspire her as a teacher, and their progress contributes to her love for dancing and teaching. It is their hard work in the studio that has always pushed her to be a better teacher and a more creative choreographer. Passing on the skill and artistry of dance is a task that is important to Jeanine, who believes that learning proper technique is essential to the study of dance, yet the discipline need not interfere with the copious amounts of fun dancing provides!
